1. 1970: Bobby Orr Scores 100 points in one season
On this day in 1970 Hockey Legend Booby Orr scores his 100th goal of the season making him the first defensivemen to reach this goal. Orr played for the Boston Bruins and the night he got his 100th he had scored four goals that game and went on to make a total of 120 making him the most successful “offensive Defenseman” of all time.
2. 1968: COnstruction begins on the Eisenhower/Johnson Memorial tunnel begins
Located about 60 miles west of denver on I-70 sits one of the highest vehicular tunnels in the world, the Eisenhower/Johnson TUnnel and on this day back in 1968 constructon on the mighty priject began. The tunnel is just under 2 miles long and took less then 10 years to complete. Just four months after the tunnel wsa completed the one-millionth car made its way through the tunnel and today as any as 10 million vehicles pass through it each year.
3. 1972: The Godfather is debuted in New York Theaters</h3

On This day in 1972 The infamous film by Fancis Ford Coppola opens in New York Theaters one week before the debut in Los Angeles. The Iconic film is mafia based film starring Marlon Brando as the Vito Corleone and also stared a young Al Pacino playing Corleone’s son Michael. The film was later released nationwide on March 24th. In 2007 the American Film Institute ranked The Godfather to be the second greatest film of all time behind Citizen Kane by Orson Wells.
