Never has a man created more wreckage in such a short amount of time. From the time Hitler took power in 1934 until his suicide in 1945, his swath of destruction is unparalleled. Besides initiating WWII, he sentenced millions of people to die by his orders. His fanatical approach and persona lured the German masses to believe that he was a great leader, only to be disappointed when they saw the monster he truly was. But by then it was too late.

The German leader invaded neighboring countries, for if they were not with him, they were against him. The reign of terror was swift and brutal with legendary battles fought in France, Russia, Poland and the UK. His two-front war was tenacious but also would be the eventual undoing of his master plan. Hitler and his wife, Eva Braun committed suicide the day after their wedding, on April 30, 1945. Their bodies were carried to the bombed-out garden behind the Reich Chancellery, where they were burned. Berlin fell just days later and the war was over.
